It is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors representing a wide range of businesses, professions and community services. Residents participate in Board meetings through representation from their Residents Council. As a Life Care Community, the Manor operates under the regulations of the Department of Social Services, Community Care division, of the State of California. The Health Center is licensed as a skilled nursing facility by the California Department of Health Services. Carmel Valley Manor is a member of the Aging Services of California and the American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging, and is accredited by the national CARF-CCAC.
